Indonesia boleh mulai berbangga dengan prestasi yang didapat. Bersama Singapura, Meraih Mimpi atau Sing to the Dawn versi internasionalnya dikerjakan bersama di Batam selama kurun waktu 3 tahun. Tahun 2008, film ini sudah diedarkan di beberapa negara dengan harapan melihat antusias dan penerimaan penonton luar negeri. Melihat hasil yang bagus, tuan rumah pun mendapat closing atau penutupan yang mengesankan. Diharapkan film ini akan menjadi sebuah tontonan hiburan alternatif selama liburan lebaran tahun ini.

Bangga rasanya mendengar berita bahwa Indonesia akhirnya berhasil membuat film animasi 3D pertama yang ditayangkan di layar lebar, dan yang lebih membuat saya turut bangga lagi karena film ini di produksi di kota batam. Film tersebut berjudul "Sing to The Dawn" Meraih Mimpi yang diproduksi Infinite Frameworks (IFW), studio animasi yang berpusat Turi Beach Resort Batam, Indonesia.


Film "Sing to The Dawn" Meraih Mimpi ini, merupakan adapatasi dari buku karya Minfung Ho berjudul Sing to The Dawn. Buku tersebut bercerita tentang kakak beradik yang berusaha melindungi tempat tinggal mereka dari kontraktor penipu. Infinite Frameworks membuat adaptasi buku Minfung Ho tersebut atas permintaan pemerintah Singapura yang ingin buku wajib baca di beberapa SD di Singapura tersebut dibuat filmnya. Begitu mendapat tawaran, Infinite Frameworks langsung memulai pengerjaan film Sing to The Dawn. Perlu tahu saja dari 150 animator hampir semuanya orang Indonesia dan hanya 5 orang asing (Wow...yess Indonesia).

Pengerjaan dilakukan sepenuhnya di Batam selama tiga tahun dan memakan biaya sebesar 5 juta dollar AS. Setelah film selesai dibuat pada tahun 2008, film Sing to The Dawn mulai didistribusikan ke berbagai negara mulai dari Singapura, Korea, dan Rusia. Sing to The Dawn tidak langsung diluncurkan ke Indonesia karena Infinite Frameworks ingin memperkenalkan Sing to The Dawn ke penonton luar terlebih dahulu.


SINOPSIS :
Dana (Gita Gutawa), terpaksa mengikuti tradisi patriarkis di kampungnya dan juga dominasi penguasa tuan tanah yang membebani keluarganya dan seluruh kampung dengan pajak tanah yang keterlaluan. Padahal sebenarnya tuan tanah Pairot, berniat mengusir warga demi membangun perhotelan dan kasino. Perjalanan Dana menjadi sangat unik ketika ia sadar bahwa hanya dengan memenangkan kompetisi beasiswa untuk melanjutakan sekolahnya, ia dapat berjuang melawan ketidakadilan ini

Ditemani dengan binatang-binatang hutan dan Rai (Patton Idola Cilik) adiknya, Dana tidak hanya berhasil mendapatkan beasiswa, tetapi mereka juga menemukan rahasia tuan tanah akan identitasnya yang sebenarnya

Meraih Mimpi adalah kisah anak perempuan dan keluarganya yang mencintai binatang dan lingkungan dan tak berhenti bermimpi dan berjuang

Jika dibandingkan dengan versi Internasionalnya, kualitas suara dan penjiwaan rasanya lebih mendalami versi Internasional. Anda bisa membandingkannya trailer versi Indonesia dan trailer versi internasional. Namun untuk soundtrack, Gita Gutawa justru mengalahkan Celina Rosa Tan. Hampir dipastikan sebagai saling menghormati antara Singapura dan Indonesia, soundtrack video yang dirilis hanya versi Gita Gutawa.
